Welcome to our Acquia News & Notes series where we’ll recap top announcements, customer stories and media drivers over the past month!

Did you hear the news? This month marked a big milestone for Acquia! For the first time, Acquia was named a Leader in Gartner's new Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms (DXPs). The decision validated our belief that connected digital experiences are the way of the future for today’s brands, and the ranking reflected our hard work to expand our strategic vision through acquisitions of new products like Cohesion, Mautic and AgilOne. The addition of AgilOne, a leading customer data platform (CDP) was a major step in furthering our commitment to delivering holistic customer experiences that feel real and relevant.

Real brands are using AgilOne’s personalized insights to create these impactful customer experiences. Check out the CDP success story that home improvement retailer Wickes, an AgilOne customer, shared with CMSWire. Wickes agents use AgilOne’s robust customer database to immediately identify whether the customer is part of a loyalty program and tailor their messages based on the caller’s profile. Since using AgilOne, the company has seen a “98% increase in operational efficiency.”

Here are some more recent observations and coverage featuring Acquia that looks more at the market transformation toward digital experience and the rising importance of CDPs:

“We can’t just build for what we know is there anymore—we need to build our tools for contexts we haven’t even considered yet. Our contexts are changing along with our content, and we need to manage them.” - Associations Now

“Marketers, no doubt, have become believers in CDPs: the numbers will be out soon, but the CDP Institute reported the industry will reach $1 billion in 2019 and grew in funding by $680 million the first half of the year.” -CMSWire

With so much buzz around how brands should prepare for this new frontier in customer experience, our own CMO, Lynne Capozzi shared her thoughts with MarTech Advisor on the need for marketers to take creative risks and be more “human.” In the interview, Lynne discussed the rising interest from consumers in voice tech and virtual assistants that offer “fast, consistent and conversational experiences.” To make customers feel heard and valuable, Lynne advises marketers to get personal throughout every moment in the customer journey, rather than commit themselves to a single channel or platform. “With every new channel comes a new tool to understand, analyze, and collect data […] Marketers want best-in-breed tools. They need the freedom to choose the technologies that work for them. That’s why I believe digital experience platforms or DXPs will be the future of marketing technology,” she said.

We also welcomed a new leader to our team. Chris Doggett (former chief sales officer at Fuze) joined Acquia as chief revenue officer. Chris oversees all revenue-generating activity and works directly with our field sales, account management, business development and partner programs. An accomplished enterprise sales and technology veteran, it’s clear that Chris is already diving headfirst into the role. He even delivered a presentation in front of hundreds of Acquians at our Global Sales and Marketing Kickoff on his very first day on the job!

Congratulations to all Acquians, old and new, who are demonstrating their commitment every day to delivering amazing customer experiences. We’ll be back next month with even more observations and highlights to share.
