Steps for Performing Your D8 to D9 Upgrade
Make sure your host supports the system requirements for Drupal 9. Drupal 9 has been supported on the Acquia platform since before its release.

Update to the latest versions of Drupal 8 core and your contributed modules; often times, the latest version of a module is compatible with both Drupal 8 and Drupal 9. Check our overview of Drupal 10 module readiness
Drupal 9 deprecated certain APIs, and your custom code will need to use the new APIs instead. Use the Rector tool to automatically make many of these code changes.
Finally, upgrade your core code to use the latest Drupal 9 release and run update.php as you would for any other upgrade. That's it! You're done
