Acquia DAM (Widen), including the Assets and Insights applications.
With Acquia DAM, DNDi has streamlined the distribution of their marketing content to create a more cohesive brand experience.
The Client
With headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, DNDi is a nonprofit organization with a global network of staff, donors, and partners. By developing treatments for neglected diseases — which don’t represent a lucrative market for pharmaceutical companies — they improve the quality of life for countless people in some of the world’s poorest communities.
The Situation
DNDi’s brand and marketing materials include powerful stories that illustrate the impact of their work. This content is used to raise awareness of their mission and drive fundraising programs.
The Challenge
Without a central repository for DNDi’s marketing content, files were stored across numerous computers and office networks. Specific assets were so difficult to find that teams often resorted to using content that was outdated or off-brand.
The Solution
The DNDi marketing team knew they needed a better way to manage and share their content. They began exploring the benefits of digital asset management (DAM) solutions and implemented Acquia DAM in 2018.
Self-serve access
With Acquia DAM, DNDi has replaced numerous storage locations and tools with a centralized repository that can be accessed anywhere, anytime. The system’s intuitive user interface and search tools allow stakeholders to find the content they need quickly and easily. And DNDi teams use sharelinks and collections to share assets with external stakeholders in just a few clicks.
A trusted partner
As DNDi prepared to launch their DAM system, the Acquia team provided continual support. Reflecting on this process, their Digital Content Officer, DK Lee, shared, “[Acquia] was very supportive and flexible during the implementation process and we’re working more efficiently as a result.”
The Results
Streamlined workflows
Acquia DAM has helped DNDi gain efficiencies across their content workflows. The marketing team no longer spends countless hours searching for files or responding to file requests. And with the Insights application, they are able to track asset usage and refine the focus of future creative work. And because projects now take less time to complete, they can spend more time advancing DNDi’s mission.
Stronger collaboration
By centralizing all content in one location, Acquia DAM has improved collaboration between DNDi’s offices and remote teams. DK shared, “Remote working is essential to the nature of our work in global health and DAM software supports that well. It also keeps teams connected, enabling us to continue to share with the world stories that need to be told.”
Enhanced work quality
With streamlined access to approved content, Acquia DAM has helped DNDi improve the overall quality and consistency of their creative work. DK shared, “Whether we’re creating a brochure or trying to find a video, [Acquia DAM] has really bolstered our storytelling. Even when sharing photos with partners and journalists, our DAM solution has equipped us to disseminate assets in a quick, secure way, resulting in higher quality content.
