The Client:

The State of Colorado is home to a diverse landscape of arid desert, river canyons and snow-covered Rocky Mountains. Serving to more than 5 million Coloradans, Colorado.gov is the digital home to hundreds of of state agencies partners.

The Situation:

The State of Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade wanted to deliver an enhanced digital experience that demonstrates to visitors why Colorado is rocky mountain state is the right choice for their life and business. To achieve this, the agency set out to develop a feature-rich web content authoring platform to help promote more than 300 Colorado government partners. 

The Challenge:

Using Colorado.gov as a central hub to connect citizens with government agencies, the Office of Economic Development and International Trade needed to guide more than 300 partners from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8. This platform rebuild would require migration approach that had minimal impact to government partners and their content. 

The Solution:

Using Acquia Cloud Platform, Colorado Interactive mapped each Drupal 7 element to its corresponding Drupal 8 component to deliver a seamless migration. With Acquia Cloud Platform, Colorado Interactive is confident in its ability to manage availability, security and reliability, in addition to supporting more than 80 million site visits a year. Instead of worrying about platform maintenance, Colorado Interactive is able to focus on more sophisticated Drupal development that will have a lasting impact on the site visitor experience.

The Results:

The Colorado Interactive team helped to successfully deliver a Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 migration.
