The purpose of Adtalem Global Education is to empower students to achieve their goals, find success, and make inspiring contributions to our global community. Adtalem Global Education Inc. (NYSE: ATGE; member S&P MidCap 400 Index) is a leading workforce solutions provider and the parent organization of Adtalem Educacional do Brasil, American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, Becker Professional Education, Chamberlain University, EduPristine, OnCourse Learning, Ross University School of Medicine and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. 

The Situation

Adtalem sought to provide a great customer experience for its users on the front end while also leveraging a robust commerce solution on the back end. And the company needed simple authoring capability, allowing them to quickly and easily add content while also being able to adjust their sophisticated eCommerce experience leveraging Salesforce B2B Commerce. With a desire to analyze, optimize, and iterate on the user experience of its educational sites based on analytics and feedback, the company wanted to drive prospects to the new experience. Lastly, they needed to add functionality such as a partner portal for affiliates to improve their experience and drive Adtalem operational efficiency.

The Challenge

Adtalem was using Adobe AEM for experience management and Elastic Path for commerce. The combined environment was highly unstable and non-performant, creating errors throughout the process which negatively impacted customer experience and customer conversions. Additionally, Adtalem’s previous site was difficult and inflexible for content authors, limiting the company’s ability to agilely deploy revised content in response to market conditions.

The Solution

Seeking to implement the first-ever combination of Acquia and Salesforce B2B Commerce to drive the customer experience for and ACAMS.ORG, Adtalem realized they needed guidance on the architecture that would best balance functionality with operational stability and performance. The company tapped Avionos to present a solution architecture that addressed Adtalem’s concerns. By leveraging a hybrid agile approach to quickly align new designs to the new Drupal site, Avionos and Adtalem were able to drive revenue by increasing site stability and enabling customers to easily complete transactions. Additionally, simplifying the operating model and business rules enabled ease-of-use for Adtalem employees. 

The Results

Acquia Site Factory now empowers Adtalem's content authors with easy, open and flexible capabilities, which means that they no longer need intensive IT assistance to publish content.

  • The site is 35% faster overall, with homepage and top 10 pages load times of <1 second down from ~5 seconds previously
