Acquians around the world came together virtually and in person to do extraordinary things for our customers, for each other and for our communities.

Our greatest strength at Acquia is our people. We believe that we are better together and that each Acquian’s individual perspective, background and experience contributes to our collective team’s impact. This dedication to our team is foundational to the culture we are fostering at Acquia. This month, our team members around the world came together virtually and in person to do some extraordinary things for our customers, for each other and for our communities:

#DareToBeDifferent: Welcoming New Perspectives

In the spirit of getting to know our new team members joining us from Widen, we hosted a global Speed Meeting event this month. This fun, fast-paced and interactive Zoom event has been one of Acquia's favorite internal networking events, and it's a fantastic opportunity for us to meet coworkers. 

Additionally, Acquia’s Talent Acquisition team participated in the UMass Dartmouth Career Fair, where we had the opportunity to meet with and collect resumes from the roughly 300 students in attendance, who could one day be future Acquians!

#CommittedToAwesome Mental Health

October 10 was World Mental Health Day and to mark the day, we hosted an interactive Mental Health Seminar with Mike O’Hara from Start Within. The seminar explored what it means to be a mental health ally, why being a mental health ally is important and how to demonstrate allyship daily. Acquians were also encouraged to take advantage of their Headspace subscriptions and participate in the special World Mental Health Day 10-minute live mediation events around managing stress and anxiety. We continued the wellness focus this month with our India team, who hosted a philosophy breakout session with Saurabh Gupta, former CIO of Kent Ro Systems.

​​#JumpInAndOwnIt: Owning Your Time and Productivity

The end of the year can be very busy in our work and personal lives. This month, we launched a new e-learning course on Time Management Best Practices to introduce Acquians to the concept of effective time management, explain the subtle nuances between being busy and being productive, and discuss time management strategies for prioritizing tasks and making time for what matters the most.

#GiveBackMore for Team Volunteering Day

On October 15, our UK Acquians had a Volunteering Day at Camp Mohawk, where a dozen team members came together to offer their assistance in transforming an area of woodland into a completely flat accessible pathway complete with a picnic bench. Camp Mohawk provides a safe haven for children with special needs and their families to come and relax, play, develop social skills and build self-confidence in a positive and uplifting environment.

It’s clear that when Acquians come together, we can achieve amazing things that we might not be able to do alone – whether that’s creating great products for our customers, sharing our tips and tricks for managing stress or building a play space for children.
