Acquia CEO Mike Sullivan was named among the top 50 Best CEOs who lead large companies, alongside Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichai, and Netflix’s Reed Hastings. Ratings by Acquia employees place Sullivan among the top 5 percent of companies in the United States that have more than 500 employees. Sullivan recently entered his second year as Acquia’s chief executive. During his tenure, the company has increased its R&D capacity for new innovation by 90 percent and gained hundreds of global brands as new customers.

“The shared passion and commitment we have to our customers’ success is second to none, and I’m extremely proud of our work in helping the world’s most well known brands transform the customer experience,” Sullivan said. “We’re committed to cultivating a talented and diverse workforce and making Acquia a great place to grow a career.”

Acquia earned Best Companies for Women honors after receiving high ratings on Comparably by female employees who provided anonymous feedback on a variety of workplace culture questions, ranging from work environment to compensation to leadership. In recent months Acquia hosted leadership and unconscious bias workshops events with She Geeks Out, and published a blog series profiling women who are leaders in the Drupal open source community.

“Employee feedback is our single most important barometer for gauging our workplace culture, and we are committed to leading the industry in building a diverse workforce and creating opportunities for growth and leadership for all Acquians,” said Chief People Officer Heather Hartford. “I am extremely proud that the women at Acquia feel this is a great place to work. Recognition from Comparably is powerful validation from our employees about the fantastic workplace we’ve built here.”

For both awards, the final data set was compiled from nearly 10 million ratings across 50,000 U.S. companies on Comparably.com. Learn more about Comparably’s Best CEO and Best Companies for Women recognition at Comparably.com.
