Acquia Named 2012 Private Company of the Year by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council

BURLINGTON, Massachusetts – September 18, 2012 – Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced that it has been named Private Company of the Year by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council at the 2012 MassTLC Leadership Awards. The award was presented to Acquia on September 13 before a crowd of more than 600 technology executives, entrepreneurs, investors and students at the Renaissance Hotel ballroom in Boston.

This award is granted to only one private company each year, recognizing them for their significant expansion and growth. A committee of over 40 industry executives, thought leaders and media were involved in selecting the finalists and determining the winners. Acquia was selected based in part for its more than 100% employee growth, 150% revenue growth, and a 300% increase in its customer base over the past 12 months. Acquia also acquired two companies and added more than 100 new technology and development partners to its network. It launched seven major new offerings and an education initiative to train future college graduates and career changers in Drupal, the popular open source content, community and commerce platform. Acquia employees also participated actively in community and charity events, including a global top 20 finish in Movember, a charity benefiting men’s cancer research, raising more than $30,000 for this cause.
