Edrington: Built in Weeks, Not Months

Like most global brands, Edrington runs a portfolio of small brand and campaign sites. One of them, a B2B site managed by a team in the Dominican Republic, sat on WordPress and GoDaddy with no real way to govern it, secure it, or keep it up to date. The dream was simple: bring those sites onto the Acquia platform and manage them consistently across the board.

In this video, Adrian Stace, Lead software engineer at Edrington, and Andrew Belcher, director and lead developer at FreelyGive, share how Acquia Source made that possible. Projects that used to stall on cost or compromise suddenly had a path forward. This one was delivered to UAT in weeks, for a fraction of the cost.

The standout moment was the age gate. As a spirits brand, Edrington has compliance rules to meet, and the old age gate was not up to the job. Using AI and prompt engineering on Acquia Source, the team went from nothing to a modernized, better-performing age gate in a single 15-minute call, with every stakeholder feeding into the result in real time.

The bigger shift is who can build. A non-developer at FreelyGive now runs client demos without waiting on engineering, so developers step in where they add real value. Drupal has always been powerful. Acquia Source is what finally made that power easy to harness.

Watch the full story to see what becomes possible when speed, governance, and AI work together.
