Médecins Sans Frontières
Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is the world's leading independent organisation for medical humanitarian aid. The Médecins Sans Frontières Australia office was set up in 1994. Every year around 200 Australians and New Zealanders are sent to and supported in the field by Médecins Sans Frontières Australia.
Médecins Sans Frontières Australia engaged Digital Garden to create a better user experience to direct users to find out about their latest projects, to join their team or to donate. The challenge of this project was to encompass design and development of the new website while working with an existing Drupal 7 implementation, which was preconfigured with content types and taxonomies for content. Mobile first in terms of navigation design was the key vision in this interface design and integration project.
Digital Garden created a UX design and development for the new Médecins Sans Frontières Australia site, complete with Solr Search integration, continuous workflows across multi environments, and automated backups and security.
Constant communication and collaboration between Digital Garden and the Médecins Sans Frontières Australia resulted in a new well designed, truly modern, smooth flowing and mobile first website. Changes made to site’s information architecture meant that all content can now be easily accessed. In relation to the homepage navigation, the user journey has been condensed and simplified and as a result goals on the website are achieved more effortlessly than ever before.
