Challenge

The College of Southern Nevada offers more than 150 degrees and certificates in over 90 fields of study in addition to serving more than 45,000 students. Southern Nevada needed a web presence that represented the colleges’ influence and prestige in addition to offering prospective students a better way to engage online.

Approach

In collaboration with the digital agency KWALL, the Southern Nevada team focused on creating a welcoming, intuitive and representative website that was easy to navigate and that showcased its strongest attributes. A compelling video on the homepage was used to quickly engage visitors and show a diverse range of offerings, from medical to culinary programs, school athletics and beyond. There was also an emphasis placed on responsive design, ensuring the site’s compatibility with a vast array of devices.

To make each user's experience personal, the college uses Acquia Lift to ensure that contextualized messaging is hitting the right audience. Southern Nevada relies on Acquia for Drupal support, in addition to site performance that is top of class.

Results

  • 68 percent increase in page views
  • 60 percent decrease in bounce rate
  • 90 percent increase in mobile visitors
