The Intrasurance Group was founded in 2002 with an aim to sell insurance directly to consumers and to give consumers access to policy administration using internet technology.
The group consists of Verzekeruzelf.nl BV (InsureYourself.nl) an online B2C label, Intrasurance BV, an underwriting agent servicing both Verzekeruzelf.nl as well as over 60 other private label solutions and since 2010 Intrasurance Technology Services (ITS), the technology arm of the group.

We feel strongly that having our own online challenger within the group gives great insight into the market and the changing needs and expectations of today’s and tomorrow’s online consumers. Working with over 60 white label solutions in the Dutch market for online P&C insurance is a great way to stay in touch with, and on top of, the latest trends in online insurance.
For example, we work extensively with aggregator websites in The Netherlands and have developed complex algorithms to help us profile potential customers and price aggressively for those profiles where we can show that being competitive will still lead to good combined rations. As a result of this analytics capability we have been able to write profitable car insurance only via the internet and make money in a market where the average combined ratio is well above a 100.
Apart from analytics capabilities we are working on a host of other digital insurance initiatives, from identity management through to internet of things, driven by the needs of our sister companies within the Intrasurance group.
We believe that by combining our individual marketing strategies of the companies within the group, we can create significant synergies for the group as a whole.
