I'm seriously excited about DrupalCon Prague. It already looks to be the biggest European Drupal event ever held, with over 1600 tickets sold to date and 56 countries represented in the registrations. The UK is currently leading the enrollment table with 193 attendees, closely followed by the US, Belgium, Denmark and Germany.
During DrupalCon, I spend over 14 hours a day meeting with developers, marketing and other tech and business folk, talking all things Drupal – never mind the time spent in the bar afterwards! I have a personal top four of things I'm looking forward to in Prague:
This group of businesses never ceases to surprise and amaze me. I always walk away from each day with a fantastic collection of stories about organisations I didn't know were using Drupal. I'm always startled by the diversity and profile of companies embracing the platform.
Large Scale Drupal
It’s fascinating interacting with those big, global organisations taking Drupal to scale. They demonstrate innovative and exciting uses of Drupal that showcases the power, versatility and stability that makes it a great enterprise platform. We can all learn a lot from these projects.
I also relish seeing the community at work. From individuals that contribute to Drupal to the teams that design and deliver digital experiences using Drupal – you can feel the enthusiasm, drive, and energy that makes Drupal a reality. They always have great stories to share.
I really enjoy hearing the stories and experiences from others. Acquia also has some pretty interesting presentations going on throughout DrupalCon Prague. Personally, I’m really looking forward to hearing the Pfizer story. Mike Lamb, Director of Marketing Technology Strategy from Pfizer and Acquia’s VP of Product Marketing, Bryan House, are going to share how Pfizer manages hundreds of digital marketing sites across 46 countries through one Drupal digital marketing platform, running on Acquia Cloud. There are also some unmissable presentations on Drupal 8.
The countdown to Prague is on! There’s still time to register. If you’re coming, it would be great to meet and hear your story.
