International Staff Accountant:

Provides financial and administrative support to the International Controller by ensuring general ledger transactions are recorded in an efficient, timely and accurate manner for our international, multi-entity Company.  Countries include Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India and the UK.  This individual will be a key contributor to our small finance organization and should have a team-oriented and hands-on work style, willing to deal with tasks great or small, whatever it takes to get the job done.

Job Duties:

  • Compile and disperse all invoices for department approval prior to payment
  • Input all invoices into GL with proper accounts and department codes
  • Review and analyze VAT/GST on invoices & expense reports; file timely returns
  • Initiate wires for weekly AP payment run
  • Respond to supplier inquiries and reconcile statements; research and correct discrepancies
  • Administer the company travel & expense system to ensure compliance with global T&E policy and local compliance in each country
  • Work with HR to ensure all payroll-related transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Prepare UK and Canada payrolls using online software providers and manage outsourced payroll companies for remainder of countries; reconcile all payrolls prior to submission and validate reports
  • Prepare wires for all international payrolls and tax payments
  • Record all payroll activity in the general ledger, book accruals as needed and reconcile all accounts monthly
  • Maintain PTO trackers in compliance with local laws
  • Facilitate all year-end tax reporting
  • Communicate payroll matters with employees
  • Ensure a timely close of the general ledger including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses
  • Organize information for external accountants to complete the local stat accounts and respond to any requests for information/clarification
  • Assist with the annual audit of the parent Company’s financial statements
  • Ad hoc & project related tasks/analyses as required

Requirements:

  • Later stages/newly qualified ACCA/CIMA member or qualified by experience
  • 2-3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of US and UK GAAP; other international experience a plus
  • Experience using general ledger and T&E systems, preferably Intacct & Concur
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong work ethic with professional demeanor and attitude
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
