The Proposal Manager plays a key role alongside the Director, Sales Enablement in working with Sales AVPs, Managers and Reps to manage and steward deals through the Strategic Deal Center. This includes effective project management, hosting and following-up on key meetings and developing winning proposals to meet our customer’s most complex challenges. This is a demanding, dynamic role that makes a measurable contribution to the success of our business.

Summary:

The Proposal Manager is to oversee the ongoing deals in the Deal Center through regular meetings, status reports and support.  In addition, the Manager will research, develop and drive customized strategies in response to RFPs.  This person will leverage internal resources to develop creative and persuasive proposals. They will also manage a Proposal Coordinator who will support the development of responses. The Proposal Manager will also measure and share the insights that come from Wins & Losses through in person enablement sessions and written communications back to the product and field teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the central contact and spokesperson for the Strategic Deal Center team and all proposals
  • Research and understand customer requirements; ensure value proposition is communicated clearly and persuasively in proposal responses
  • Determine Deal related deliverables and communicate goals and timelines
  • Influence project team members to provide key deliverables on time throughout proposal process
  • Identify gaps in Acquia’s ability to Win through the analysis of Win/Loss reports.  Provide guidance to the business on those gaps and opportunities.  Work with key internal stakeholders to get new capabilities, features and product offerings into appropriate roadmaps for implementation
  • Development and ongoing contribution to a library of reusable proposal content. Manage content repositories including Ombud, Google Drive and Docurated
  • 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in proposals management, customer service, and project management. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably for a growing and expanding team in a startup environment

Skills and experience:

  • Proven track record of executing Proposal Management best practices, including project management, value proposition development, writing, editing, content analysis, compliance matrix development
  • Working knowledge of the CMS and Digital Experience landscape
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; You can articulate clear, strong ideas and have established methods for organizing content, and crafting a message
  • Experience partnering with sales on new business pursuits and knowledge of the sales process; Force Management experience a plus
  • Ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams
  • Possess strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs and Drive.  Experience working with content databases such as Ombud or other technology a plus
  • Must be a people person!  Role requires high levels of interaction with cross functional teams and internal sales leadership teams
  • Inquisitive. Ability to sit back and ask: “is this program working?  How do we know?  What do we need to change in order to make it more effective?”  Ability to see the bigger picture of why what we do matters and how to drive impact
