Eric Fullerton, product marketing leader, Acquia
  • Gemma Singleton, customer success manager, Acquia

Personalisation is on everyone’s mind these days but orchestrating a truly tailored digital experience doesn’t happen overnight. As Eric stated in a recent blog post, “We can all agree it would be amazing if there was an automatic, turnkey, personalise-with-the-flip-of-a-switch solution out there, but sadly, that’s simply not the case. Doing personalisation the right way is an investment in time, resources, content, and technology.”

Join Eric and Gemma as they highlight how doing personalisation the right way; by taking a gradual approach focused on data, customer experience and long term results.

We live in a customer-first world. But their expectations are higher than ever and there’s more competition before for their attention, engagement, and loyalty. For marketing leaders, this requires moving the goalposts in terms of how we engage with our prospects and customers to deliver a connected customer experience. But meeting customers on their channels of preference, with content tailored to their characteristics and interests won’t happen overnight -- it’s a process. Join Eric and Gemma as they breakdown the technology, strategy, and crawl, walk, run methodology that can help your business deliver data first customer experiences to any channel.

The Future Is Better Than We Think

Gerd Leonhard
  • Gerd Leonhard, futurist, humanist, author of 'Technology vs. Humanity,' CEO

What would an event be without an amazing keynote to leave attendees inspired? Gerd Leonhard has inspiration to spare. His futuristic vision started long ago; after studying theology at University of Bonn and a stint at Boston’s own Berklee School of Music, Gerd got an early look at how the internet was about to permanently restructure the entire the music industry. The internet music business he started inspired his first book, “The Future of Music,” but also ignited his passion for digital disruption.

“I’ve been a futurist for more than 15 years, with more than 1,700 engagements for over 800 clients in 50-plus countries, and an estimated global audience of 2 million people. I focus on five- to 10-year future scenarios, yet my work is becoming increasingly ‘nowist’ i.e. about the here-and-now, because ‘the future is already here – it’s just unevenly distributed’ (as one of my favorite science fiction writers, William Gibson, likes to say).”

Gerd’s primary focus isn’t just on the future of tech but also humanity. What will humans do, in the future, and what will be done by technology?  What should and what should not be automated? “From genetic engineering to artificial intelligence and robotics, from cognitive computing to the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 – we are heading into a future where much of what used to be science fiction is becoming science fact.” On a personal note, this technology and sci-fi fan is super interested in this session.
