Acquia Makes the Cut for the Forbes Cloud 100

The cloud market is becoming more and more competitive. As some of the largest global companies and organizations, from media and publishing companies to government agencies, have continued to invest more in cloud computing and open source technologies, Acquia is poised to meet their needs and demands. For that effort, along with a history of secure cloud hosting, Acquia was named in Forbes Cloud 100 for 2017.

The Cloud 100 represents a variety of cloud-based companies with different areas of expertise. “With strong showings by IT operations firms, security shops, marketing companies and more, the Cloud 100 is at its best in the diversity of its offerings,” Forbes writer Alex Konrad writes.

Topping this year’s list was Stripe, a billion-dollar online payment company whose clients include heavyweights such as Facebook, Lyft, Target and UNICEF. Also receiving top honors where file-sharing company Dropbox, messaging platform Slack, and Docusign, which specializes in digital signatures.

“The companies of the Cloud 100 have worked with the world's largest corporations and solved small-business headaches alike, fixed people's grammar online and traced government sponsored hacking attacks,” Konrad writes.

Forbes highlighted Acquia’s mobile-focused CMS (Drupal) and our commitment to helping companies evolve their digital strategies.

Since the time of publication, Acquia has also announced Mike Sullivan as CEO, taking the reins from Tom Erickson, who has lead Acquia for the last several years. Sullivan brings 25 years experience in SaaS, enterprise content management and content governance to Acquia. Previously, he served as senior vice president and general manager of SaaS and information management at Micro Focus, overseeing the merger of Micro Focus with Hewlett Packard Enterprise's software business in 2016.

Reena Leone had nearly 10 years of digital marketing experience, working for both digital agencies and global brands.

A self-described “writer, podcaster, cosplayer, and nerd,” she said her favorite aspect of working at Acquia was her collaboration with colleagues.
