Late last week, Acquia was rated Positive by Gartner in their new MarketScope for User Experience Platforms.
What are User Experience Platforms (UXP) you ask? Here's what Gartner says:
Traditional approaches to architecting, developing and managing websites, portal sites and mobile apps use a variety of disconnected and duplicative tools... A UXP is an integrated set of tools for delivering modern websites and portals. It focuses on the front end, the presentation and user interaction layer.
When Gartner kicked off their UXP research, we were thrilled to participate since we've seen the same trend in our customers and prospects. We think of the UXP as the foundation of an integrated digital experience, where companies are looking to combine content, community, and commerce, across all digital channels and audiences e.g. customers, partners, employees, citizens, etc.
It's great to see analysts like Gartner validate our belief that companies are increasingly looking to standardize on a single platform for their digital experience initiatives. Gartner refers to this as taking a platform approach to UXP:
"The platform approach enables organizations to assemble the tools necessary to support websites, portals and mobile sites that have a variety of requirements and features. For example, a business-to-consumer (B2C) website may require Web content management (WCM), digital marketing technologies, e-commerce, social media, search and analytics, whereas a business-to-employee (B2E) portal may require a portal product, document collaboration, search and extensive business application integration capabilities."
Acquia's Positive rating validates that we are at the forefront of the UXP movement. The report highlights a number of Drupal's strengths as a UXP, including the large ecosystem of Drupal modules, and the vast Drupal community of developers and system integrators.
