Responsibilities:

  • Work with data scientists to architect and build systems that use Machine Learning techniques to provide services via Rest APIs
  • Develop reliable data pipelines that convert data into features that can be used to train machine learning models
  • Analyze and understand data sources, participate in design discussions and provide guidance about database technology best practices
  • Write tested, high quality code that can be quickly moved into production

Qualifications and skills:

  • B.S. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience building highly-performant data heavy applications
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and NoSQL tools
  • Working knowledge of Redshift, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Apache Spark or other big data technologies
  • 3+ years experience with AWS services
  • Strong knowledge of Linux / UNIX systems
  • Proficiency in high level language such as Java, Scala, C++, Go or Python
  • Knowledge of how to assess the performance of data solutions, how to diagnose performance problems, and tools used to monitor and tune performance
  • Understanding of software quality assurance principles

Nice to have:

  • Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling tools or underlying algorithms
