Summary:

The General Manager will join the Acquia office in Pune as a senior staff member.  The office will be comprised of Professional Services, Operations and Support staff. You will recruit a high performing team in accordance with Acquia’s growth strategy including building the engineering team from the ground up. Once the team has been recruited, you will manage the team including ongoing career development and performance oversight. The role will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

We are looking for a broad and strong leader – part builder, part operator, and part general manager who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy for India development center to achieve strategic goals for the center within the context of the global organization.
  • Responsible for providing leadership for Information technology and Engineering functions, with a blend of technology vision and business acumen.
  • Recruiting a team of top-performing individuals to be based in our Pune office.
  • Managing and growing the team consistent with the needs of the business.
  • Providing oversight on methodology, technology choices, and team productivity.
  • Removing impediments that block or slow down the development team.
  • Motivating employees to achieve the business goals of the product.
  • Career development of all employees that report to you.
  • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our service offerings.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve team functioning, cohesiveness, and effectiveness.

Skills:

  • 5+ years managing software engineering teams with 18 - 25 years of total experience with small as well as large-scale enterprise organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has navigated teams through adverse situations, either successfully or unsuccessfully
  • Well versed in modern development techniques and automated testing strategies

Qualifications:

  • Ability to gain credibility and build relationships with all levels in an organization, from technical experts to senior executives.
  • Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight in order to drive engagement and make appropriate recommendations to the business.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
  • A talent for being able to influence and build mindshare convincingly with any audience.
