As a Technical Consultant who has a passion for delivering killer web experiences and wowing their customers, you will get to guide Acquia customers and lead technical teams of some of the best talent in the Drupal and web development communities (from both Acquia and our top-notch partners around the world). You will help government, academic institutions, and large and small businesses make the most of the power of Drupal and open source. 


Acquia’s team of enterprise Drupalists are helping our customers build killer web experiences, migrate to Drupal, tune and improve their Drupal implementations, and advise on all things Drupal and web architecture. With the rapid adoption of Drupal as a web platform, our Technical Consultants are in high demand. They travel on site and work with some of the most talented technologists and some of the hottest web properties on leading edge web development projects. Engagements vary by customer and can include anything from custom coding and mentoring to general consulting and guidance on architecture.


  • Provide accurate technical information, recommendations, and guidance to customers on Drupal and Acquia products
  • Create an excellent customer experience through collaboration and preparation before the engagement, excellent delivery during the engagement, and a successful handoff after the engagement
  • Perform work with (internal and external) customer satisfaction in mind, while not compromising the integrity of the work
  • Deliver on service commitments and established or agreed upon deadlines
  • Increase customer’s technical knowledge and understanding
  • Identify the specific information needed to clarify a situation or make a decision
  • Take on additional responsibilities and fill in gaps. Own deliverables and is accountable for results. Recognizing when it's appropriate to jump in and own it, and also when to provide support and collaboration.
  • Prepare high-quality, timely, written deliverables when required
  • Ad Hoc duties as assigned

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Direct experience in a consulting/technical consulting role
  • Experience with and interest in the business side of complex, large-scale technical implementations
  • Experience with marketing, content management, and digital experience technologies
  • Desire to learn how technology transforms business
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to deal with frequently shifting priorities
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time

Additional Skills: 

  • Ability to develop, review, and test custom Drupal modules and themes
  • Desire to learn and adapt to new applications and frameworks, and eager to work on exciting and innovative technologies
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
