The Technical Performance Specialist is a subject matter expert in the focus area of Drupal application and LAMP stack performance tuning and creates performance optimization engagements for some of the largest, well-known companies worldwide.  The Technical Performance Specialist also provides consulting and guidance to our Delivery projects as needed and acts as an innovation magnet and desires to continually learn new technologies and technical approaches.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide targeted technical expertise through Professional Services load testing and performance-focused engagements
  • Continually learn and improve upon performance-testing related skills
  • Develop solution/system architecture that takes into account the full set of technical influencers
  • Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing technical landscape, innovations and clients
  • Switch gears to support multiple enterprise websites in 2-3 week sprints
  • Drive technical innovations within the rest of the Professional Services organization
  • Operate as a thought leader for Acquia Professional Services and the Drupal Community, providing technical presentations and consulting
  • Partner closely with Technical Account Managers, Project Managers, and Technical Architects to reach common goals
  • Ensure complete and proper documentation is logged regarding solutions and discussions


Skills and Attributes:


  • Mastery of PHP
  • Extra bonus points for MySQL, Varnish, Drupal, Symfony, and jMeter
  • Effective, concise and persuasive written and oral communications that are tailored to the appropriate audiences
  • Perform work with (internal and external) customer satisfaction in mind, while not compromising the integrity of the work
  • Continuously ensure we are operating to support and enhance projects by leveraging the full Acquia Platform of products and services
  • Prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Adjust to peaks and troughs of workloads. Proactively takes on additional work as needed; fills in gaps. Covers work for colleagues when needed.
  • Maintain effectiveness in reaching set goals by adapting to changed circumstances, tasks, responsibilities, and people
  • Actively and continuously gain insight of strengths and weaknesses in order to identify the relevant areas that need further development (with regard to skills and knowledge) and acts upon it

  • Bachelor's or higher degree
  • Ability to travel, as necessary
