Mike has been working with Drupal since 2007 and on internet-based software solutions for over fifteen years as a software architect, software engineer, and usability practitioner. He brings a rich knowledge of user-based software development processes, usability analysis activities, and project organization and management to bear for his clients.
Most recently, Mike was the User Interface Architect for Wellness & Prevention, and was responsible for all presentation-related aspects of their flagship digital health coaching product. Mike founded and led two separate Drupal consulting firms in the Ann Arbor, MI area and was responsible for working directly with clients and growing sales. A few of the clients that he has had the privilege to work with in these ventures include Wellness & Prevention, Arbor Research, Zingerman's, Johnson Controls, the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, and the Open.Michigan project at the UM Medical School.
Prior to that, Mike was Director of Engineering at Diamond Bullet Design in Ann Arbor. As Director, he oversaw software engineering, project management, and usability services for various clients. Mike was responsible for a number of defining projects at Diamond Bullet, including the University of Michigan Business School, the University of Michigan Alumni Association, and PDTrials.org.
Mike graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Software Engineering and a M.S. in Information, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction. Mike's research and professional interests lie in areas of open source software, project efficiency, usability engineering, information retrieval, and user interface design.
