As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Acquia, Joseph Janik leads a global team responsible for secure development, operations, and lifecycle management of Acquia products, end users services, and Corporate enterprise IT services. Additionally, the team builds and maintains trust in Acquia products/services for our customers by continually achieving strict compliance and attestation to various governance frameworks such as: SOC 1 type2, SOC 2 type 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and FedRAMP.
Joseph is a proven cyber security leader with experience in Aerospace/Defense and Private/Commercial sectors, managing dynamic portfolios of business and tactical-mission critical systems and building security teams. Joseph was previously CISO at Monster Worldwide where he developed and implemented a strategic roadmap for information security and risk management included oversight of the security architecture, threat operations, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures. Prior to Monster, Joseph worked in the Aerospace/Defense industry with leadership roles at: Raytheon, as the IT Security Policy and Governance Manager leading cybersecurity policy, governance and risk processes; and Lockheed Martin where he was based in Washington DC for 7 years and worked closely govt customers on Defense/Intelligence programs.
Joseph holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from John Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduated from Lockheed Martin’s Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP), and holds various professional certificates including: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), CompTIA Security+, and RSA Archer GRC administration.
