The Television Academy Selects Acquia Cloud for its Award-winning Website

BURLINGTON, Mass. – June 25, 2014 – Acquia, the digital business company, today announced that the Television Academy will move TelevisionAcademy.com to Acquia Cloud for increased resiliency and scalability. The organization’s many year-round activities, member and public offerings and recognitions of television excellence are highlighted by its Primetime Emmy® Awards telecast and online companion program, BackStage Live.

Entertainment organizations rely on Acquia to provide digital experiences that don’t fail. Acquia Cloud’s elastic infrastructure, continuous delivery solutions for Drupal, and Acquia’s enterprise-class, follow-the-sun support provide resiliency to meet the skyrocketing demand that major award shows generate. The Television Academy joins the growing number of elite media and entertainment organizations that are transforming digital entertainment with Acquia.

“Our upcoming July 10th live webcast announcement of the Emmy nominations will bring a significant number of visitors to the site, and the interest continues through all the events and content we post that lead up to television’s biggest night, the telecast of the Primetime Emmy Awards,” said Marc Wade, executive director, digital, for the Television Academy. “That night, during the preshow, the telecast and post-show, TelevisionAcademy.com offers information on all the nominees, behind the scenes interviews, and exclusive moments with the night’s winners and presenters with our second-screen experience, ‘Backstage Live.’ It’s critical that our site performs at its very best. That’s why we sought a technology partner with the experience and Drupal expertise to ensure TelevisionAcademy.com scales to meet the massive demand generated by the Emmys and other events, and that search led us to Acquia.”

“When a year’s preparation culminates in a one-night event on an international stage, failure is not an option. Organizations like the Television Academy require flawless performance when it counts the most,” said Chris Comparato, senior vice president of customer success at Acquia. “There’s a new quality assurance paradigm that pushes resiliency beyond hosting. Resiliency is about an increased focus on application quality and performance with a safety net to ensure reliability. Our open cloud platform gives the Television Academy the tools that fuel the continuous delivery of a higher quality site that’s ready to scale.”
