Drupal tour kicks-off in Australia
Woburn, MA – January 20, 2011 – Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced that Drupal founder and project lead Dries Buytaert will be kicking-off his Drupal tour in Australia. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Drupal and the release of Drupal 7, Dries will be embarking on a trip down under to listen, learn, and educate enterprises and the media about the value of Drupal, the open source social publishing system.
Drupal is the most innovative social publishing platform on the market today, currently powering many of the Australia’s top websites, including the Prime Minister of Australia, McDonalds, Readers Digest, Sanyo and Computer World. The true value of Drupal lies in its power of innovation and the immense community that supports it; there were more than 1000 community members that contributed to the launch of Drupal 7.
“I’m very excited to kick-off 2011 in Australia. It’s important for me as a community leader to meet with other community leaders around the globe and promote Drupal 7”, said Dries Buytaert, Drupal project lead and CTO and co-founder, Acquia. “The latest release of Drupal makes it easier than ever to build, scale, and manage rich web experiences. Currently, Drupal powers 1.5% of all websites and I am confident that number will grow rapidly.”
Dries is scheduled to be in Brisbane, 21-22 January where he will keynote the Drupal DownUnder conference on Saturday 22 January at 4:30PM. Dries will then head to Melbourne, 24-25 January, and complete the last leg of his Australian tour in Sydney 26-27 January. Dries will be meeting with customers and partners, Drupal enthusiasts and the press. To schedule a meeting or interview, please contact Laurie Vertuccio at firstname.lastname@example.org
