Acquia, Engine Yard to Offer Cloud Platform for Drupal and Ruby on Rails Apps [6/7/11]

Drupal-based software developer Acquia (www.acquia.com) announced on Tuesday it plans to partner with Ruby on Rails-based development and deployment platform Engine Yard (www.engineyard.com) to offer a fully managed cloud solution for Drupal and Ruby on Rails applications.

The new partnership will help those professionals who use Drupal and RoR to more effectively develop social websites and custom web applications.

While I love life in the Internet Cloud, it was a gray, rainy few days at the end of last week.

While it's easy to point fingers at Amazon Web Services, I'm focused on how Acquia can do better. Our goal is to deliver fantastic end-to-end service and support for our customers' web sites irrespective of problems in the underlying infrastructure. That's for us to worry about, mitigate against, and repair — not you.
