Last week we pushed out a new Drupal Gardens update containing several very popular requests that we are thrilled to deliver!  In addition, we are now in the home stretch towards a Drupal 7 release candidate, with only 5 critical bugs left as of this post.  The Acquia engineering team has been spending 30% of its time working with the community directly on Drupal 7 core and contrib module efforts, and we are all counting down the days until release.  Exciting times!

It is so amazing to have a great, global community of passionate Drupalists. It usually means that you can quickly find people who are of like mind that want to help the Drupal world grow in ways that are new, unique, and useful. I'm happy to have seen the good response to my "What shall we do about themes?" post. I'm particularly glad to see a bunch of self-described designers participating, and to see the thoughtfulness of the comments.

From the 50+ comments, a few consistent messages emerged (no editorial pen here; just consolidating / summarizing):

    Drupal Design Camp Boston

Drupal Design Camp Boston attendees will learn and share knowledge about Drupal’s powerful templating system. Over the two days, you can expect to gain knowledge on how to use starter themes, custom templates, modify code that Drupal produces, and how use jQuery and JavaScript to enhance user experience. Also, Drupal fundamentals are part of the framework.
