Pretty much every time I run a Hello Drupal course, people want to know more about event calendars in Drupal. These two questions just came into my inbox just this morning:

Q: Is it possible to have different users logging on and updating the events/ and only have access to their own events to edit?
A: Yes! That is included with Drupal core.

My colleague, Frank Maxwell, and I presented recently at the "OSForum" - open source forum day for local government in Ireland, after that we received emails from people who wanted to know more. It seemed we needed to do something to suit a bigger audience. We helped out on a "Drupal4Gov Day" with Rhoda Kerins of the Local Government Management Agency of Ireland offices in Dublin. Participants ranged from project managers to developers who work for local government at the city and county levels in Ireland.

On my last blog post we looked to what Drupal achieves out of the box regarding Drupal caching. We understood how Drupal can cache pages for anonymous users and found solutions to avoid to bootstrap Drupal to serve a cached page (using a reverse proxy like Varnish or redirecting requests using Boost). We also saw that even if any of these tools is used, Drupal is also able to save cached versions of pages in the database. However, Drupal allows to plug transparently other caching backends that are faster:
