I Dream it and I Drupal it – My Acquia Story

I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new beginning which weaves more threads on to it like spider as it goes on. Acquia internship came as this new beginning to me that I always thought of and dreamt of. I admired startups with challenging ideas and read more and more about the entrepreneurs, about their success stories and the way they reached to where they are now and still envisioning in future. I loved to read and analyze what challenges these young entrepreneurs faced and how they overcome it.

Drupal for Digital Commerce – Bojan Živanović

Bojan and I chatted at Drupal Dev Days 2014 about one of the newest and most important weapons available in Drupal's eCommerce arsenal: recurring billing for digital commerce in Drupal Commerce.

Deliver digital faster with Drupal – Part 2

In Deliver digital faster with Drupal Part 1, I showed you some of the many examples of successful sites built rapidly thanks to Drupal’s modularity. To stay ahead of your competition, you need to be nimble and agile; Drupal helps you do this with reusable, transferable digital experiences that can be customised to suit various niches even within a single business enterprise. All, of course, without paying additional license fees or mandated limits on developers, environments, or copies.

The Open Source Value Proposition

Every so often, advocates and vendors of proprietary/closed source software attempt a FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt) campaign of comment and link-baiting in order to reframe the conversation around Open Source. The arguments brought up in these discussions are predictable and generally straw man arguments that hold little water, so I wanted to take time to break these down and show the real value proposition of Open Source platforms, web content management systems generally, and Drupal specifically.

Brant Wynn: Demo Framework – How we pitch Drupal to potential clients

Brant Wynn, Acquia Solutions Architect, and I covered some interesting ground in our conversation preceding his jam's Drupal Camp session on selling Drupal to potential clients via beautiful, out-of-the-box demos. Listen to hear about working as a professional open source software developer, the potential wins from having migration tools built into Drupal 8, how Drupal 8 is bringing so many open source technologies and communities together, and more.

Conference Organizing Distribution (COD) 7 Beta2

COD Beta 2

Over the Holiday weekend, over 25 tickets were solved coming out of the Alpha6 and Beta1 release of COD. Late Monday night, COD Beta2 was released! This release includes fixes to the session submission system, specifically where time-slots and tracks weren't being properly saved in some conditions. We also made changes to the administration menu paths to de-couple them from the node and be less confusing. You can see the full release notes here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2299327

Closing the Drupal Education Gap

Demand for Drupal talent is high… Really high. A good Drupaler can find work on some of the most notable sites in the world next to other great minds and in good working conditions. Drupal is taking the world by storm, converting government agencies, Fortune 500s and many more on a daily basis. But this popularity has come at a price. The existing talent pool is just too limited to support Drupal’s popularity without serious investment in developing a greater pool of talent, and that something the existing community has got to own and make happen.
