Lessons learned integrating Drupal with...

While Drupal is utterly amazing in many many ways it is not the obvious choice to power web services that require tens of thousands of concurrent connections. Swifto is a real time labor services purchasing business that needs to match thousand of service providers with tens of thousands of customers, using a wide variety of clients.

Lior Kesos, will review the vision of Drupal 8 for improved web services and then showcase
some methodologies and use-cases that can be used right now with Drupal, Views 3, Node.js, and MongoDB. He will review which services are delivered from Drupal: content creation, editing, updating, deleting, registration, authentication, flag changes, and taxonomy rebuild.

Attendees will learn:

  • How Drupal can be the common backend for a wide variety of clients such as: mobile, tablets, widgets, toolbars, HTML5, flash
  • How to integrate Drupal for content creation, editing, updating, and deletion of a large ad hoc content cache, in MongoDB, via a node.js API without using Drupal for content delivery.
  • How Views 3 can use a Node.js API for pluggable query objects
