Building Online Communities for the Government with Drupal: Story of DSCA

The Government sector has been a leading early adopter of Drupal to help meet their initiatives for building a stronger web presence to facilitate engagement with the public. While the history is long, the road was not always easy. Recent Drupal break-throughs, technology improvements, and alignment with the right industry expertise have enabled the team with DSCA and DISA to build killer online communities for their constituents with the help of Acquia’s Drupal Commons. Acquia and special guest presenter Sean McCarthy - Technical Advisor to DSCA - discuss some of the key considerations when working within the government sector including:

  • the role of integrator in community
  • virtualization of Drupal
  • DoD mechanisms and compliance
