In order to create a great digital experience today, a brand must remain in step with consumer expectations and one step ahead of the competition. Constant innovation is essential to take advantage of the opportunities for successfully disrupting an established market, as well as to mount a defense against others disrupting your business.
We'll be sharing a weekly roundup of some of the highlights from DigitalDisruption.com as the staff of this recently launched site follows the rapid changes that are affecting how we all do business.
Here are some highlights from the past week:
Interview with Google Glass Explorer, Don Schwartz
Did you know that Glass is coming out with headphones and corrective lenses? I met Don Schwartz, New England area Google Glass Explorer, at Tech in Motion's recent "Wearable Technology Mixer" at the Baseball Tavern in Boston. Schwartz and I discussed Google Glass and the ways its augmented reality is a key disruptor in the digital space.
4 Real-World Uses for Quantum Cryptography
Today, the technology known as quantum key distribution (QKD) threatens to change the dynamic code-making and code-breaking, for good. With this method, one party can send a cryptographic key encoded with photons to another party. The unique properties of photons as quantum objects are such that any attempt to "measure" (or decipher) the message will change the photons' quantum state. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle ensures that the message will then be destroyed or altered, making it easy for both the sender and receiver to see that the message has been compromised.
Interview with Ben Cooper, CEO and Co-Founder of Sensible Baby
Ben Cooper's product, Sensible Baby introduces sensors into the sleep monitoring space. By placing a little chip in your infant's nightwear, you can monitor their breathing, and even know what position they are sleeping in. Alerts are sent to you via iPad or mobile app based on the baby's movements.
