Acquia Enhances Leadership Team with VP Services

Since the early days of Acquia, we’ve sought to ensure that our team was composed of a good blend of Drupal expertise and execution at all levels in the enterprise. Dries encouraged an outstanding group of both technical and evangelical Drupalists to join the team, a group that has grown substantially since with the addition of both additional senior Drupalists as well as “up and comers”. Our leadership team is flush with experience in companies like IBM, Documentum, webMethods, HP, Lotus, Filenet and more.

We’ve been building out our vision of being the enterprise guide for Drupal on these two cornerstones. Our partners provided a third foundation, namely experience in building web properties for organizations. As our partner base increased, and as enterprises started engaging directly with us on their social publishing strategies, it became clear that we needed to enhance our leadership team with additional experience. In order to better understand our partner’s business and meet the increasing demand from large digital agencies, we began a search.

Advance the clock more than 10 months, and we’re pleased to welcome Peter Guagenti to Acquia, as our vice president of services. Peter joins Acquia from Razorfish, where he was the SVP client engagement for the western region of the USA. Peter’s knowledge in developing digital strategies for organizations as diverse as Microsoft, Mattel, and eBay adds a new dimension to the Drupal and enterprise experience already at Acquia.

Peter is responsible for the professional services, learning services and client advisory teams at Acquia. In his core role, he will work with our partners and customers to be successful in building and maintaining sites in Drupal.

Prior to Razorfish, Peter was at Accenture and Cap Gemini, two additional Acquia partners involved in some very large and interesting Drupal projects. One of Peter’s first focus areas will be to work with his former colleagues on these projects, and help them to extend their knowledge as Drupal deepens its foray into the enterprise. Peter’s also helping out with our rollout of Drupal Gardens, our SaaS platform ideal for enterprise microsites. Peter’s estimated that some of the seven figure projects that he has worked on could have saved as much as 50-75% of their cost if a platform like Drupal Gardens had been available to them. Naturally, we’re excited about what that could mean for our customers, as well as Drupal and Acquia.
