Acquia Partners with SOASTA To Ensure the Ongoing Success of Enterprise-Scale Drupal Deployments
Managed Drupal Hosting Clients to Benefit from Scalable Web Testing for Superior Performance
DRUPALCON — Copenhagen — August 24, 2010 — Acquia, the enterprise guide to social publishing, today announced it has added SOASTA CloudTest to its Drupal hosting platform. Under this agreement, Acquia will distribute SOASTA’s web performance testing services as an integrated part of its Acquia Hosting service. Customers will now be able to effectively test Drupal-based websites at any time from early stage development through to production. Additionally, Acquia and SOASTA have worked together to take the key performance indicators that define performance and capacity for Drupal and incorporated them into SOASTA's real-time analytics for monitoring during performance tests.
As online sites continue to proliferate — some estimates peg the current number at 3 billion —and more enterprises embrace complex social media such multi-user blogs, wikis, community networks, digital media portals, and e-commerce, flawless web performance defines brand and drives revenue. Acquia Hosting customers can now quickly assess the performance of their sites over time across multiple tests as content in the database grows and new modules are added. Performance problems can be caught and addressed before they cause an incident during normal or peak traffic periods.
“By incorporating the industry's most advanced web testing service from SOASTA, we now enable our clients to anticipate and respond to performance issues with unprecedented speed, and in many cases, before they reach a critical state,” said Jim Salem, vice president of operations, Acquia. “We believe this partnership is timely as more enterprises embrace Drupal for building highly responsive web applications.”
“SOASTA's CloudTest and our methodology will be used to give Acquia’s enterprise customers high confidence that their applications are always ready to support peak traffic,” said Tom Lounibos, CEO, SOASTA. “Customers benefit from the deep Drupal performance knowledge of the Acquia team that has been captured in the CloudTest Analytics dashboards.”
Keeping pace with the speed and agility of today’s web development initiatives requires the next generation of testing and performance management solutions. Working together, SOASTA and Acquia are ensuring the enterprise success of Acquia’s Drupal deployments with new views of the most critical Drupal performance metrics. This collaboration will be showcased live on September 30, 2010, in a joint webcast describing the best practices for successful Drupal rollouts, “Tuning for Success: Performance Intelligence for Enterprise Drupal”.
