Great question! The 'config.init' time represents the time it takes to dispatch the event during creation of the configuration object. The database query actually takes place after that event finishes dispatching. Typically this means that there's actually a very fast 'php_pdo' call right after the 'config.init' call where the lazy-loading occurs. Here are some screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/jOcEF
