Acquia Dev Cloud Rocks

Dev Cloud Rocks. This is the sentiment we’ve been hearing a lot from customers lately (and we tend to agree).

I had the privilege of speaking with Joey and Chris from SuperStar Media last week. They just launched chrisrock.com on Dev Cloud and are very happy. In fact, when I reviewed my notes from the call, I’d transcribed the word “amazing” no less than 5 times. Need I remind you, we’re talking about Cloud hosting for Drupal sites here...

I was thrilled to hear that their favorite things about Dev Cloud were also those things that we feel truly sets Dev Cloud apart as the cloud hosting platform for professional developers.

It is a self-service platform, but Joey and Chris were both extremely happy with the help they got from the Acquia Forums which are available to Dev Cloud users through the Acquia Network. At Acquia we genuinely want you to be successful and through the Acquia Network provide the answers, tools and support you need to help create and maintain amazing websites built on Drupal.

Joey and Chris were also pretty psyched about not only the workflow, for moving code between environments, but also for the ease of being able to back out code and for the automatic nightly backups. It’s these seemingly little things that not only add big value and take some of headaches away, but also give site owners a little more peace of mind.

They’re hoping to see upwards of 20,000 hits a day to chrisrock.com and are looking to launch additional sites on Dev Cloud as well. I personally can’t wait to see what other super star websites will be hosted on Dev Cloud. Perhaps it will force me to become a little more in tune with pop culture.

I’m partial of course, but do believe Dev Cloud is amazing. Many thanks to Joey and Chris for sharing their story and enthusiasm for Dev Cloud. Not only was it a pleasure to hear the amazing things, it is also valuable to hear what we could be doing better. And as hard as it can be to hear, I was quite happy that the two items highest on their wish list for Dev Cloud, native Git support and better documentation, are already on the road map and expected this summer!

Rock on Dev Cloud!
