NYC Student Discounts on Drupal Training

A friend just sent me a link to a job description. Given that I work at Acquia, and run training, this should not be remarkable. Most of my friends outside of Acquia & Drupal imagine that I must have a line to pools of Drupal developers, designers, and other folks just waiting for work. [Insert knowing laughter from Drupalists the world over here.]

The fact of the matter is that we need more Drupal people to fill all the available job postings. This is a large part of my mandate here - get enough people trained so that all our customers and partners can complete the Drupal projects they want to complete.

This is especially true in certain places like New York City. The job posting I referenced earlier is for an awesome organization based in NYC - the International Rescue Committee. They are looking for a Drupal Developer. Other organizations, like the NYSE, are *always* looking for Drupal developers. Most of Acquia's partners in NYC are looking for Drupal talent. And then there are probably hundreds of other Drupal jobs out there for the taking in NYC/NJ/CT and surrounds.

So who is going to fill these job openings? How about we try and get some current undergraduate students the knowledge they need to graduate and start working immediately? The economy will love it, these students (and their parents) will love it, Drupal will love it - I think you get the picture.

To help with this, our partner BlinkReaction has a deal going - if you are a student, you can register for Acquia Training on the cheap. $99 for 1 day of Drupal training, or $199 for 2 days of Drupal training. Just use the promo code 'blink_edu' when you register for any of their courses. To register now, check out their registration page.

They are running the following courses (click on the course to get more info about that course):

Don't live in NYC? Don't worry - we've got a fantastic global partner network delivering training all over - you can always see a full and updated list of classes on our training site.

Don't see what you want in terms of classes? Or the dates don't work for you? Don't worry - we can customize private courses for you and your co-workers, we can set up additional public training dates. Just let us know what you need, we'll make it happen.
