A new hire's first week at Acquia
I'm excited to come on board with a whole bunch of other new hires (8 starting on one day!), so it's worth saying a little bit about what the on-site experience is like. I'm a remote employee based out of Portland, OR, so my first week was spent at the office in Woburn, MA to get to know the team. And it was a great week. I expected an office that was friendly, but... office-y. (Covers on the TPS reports, please.) Instead, I got an enthusiastic welcome from a vibrant start-up and I hope that other new hires can say the same. For me, it had the same sort of energy as a DrupalCon - seeing old friends, making new friends, working really hard and learning a lot. One thing that really struck me is that Acquia is about creating great web experiences on Drupal, and that shows through in what people are doing, and how they're contributing back to the community.
My role will be in Support, helping to onboard new clients for our hosting and support offerings, which just feels like a perfect fit. I'll be reporting back from the trenches about improvements and other nice things as they come up. I'm looking forward to sharing insights at Drupal Camps, DrupalCons and Summits, so don't be a stranger.
