Drupal... Marketing. Marketing... Drupal. Nice to meet you!

We are only a couple of weeks into 2011, but we’ve already had a very exciting start to the New Year with the launch of Drupal 7, version 1.3 of Drupal Commons, and the release of the upgrades in functionality for Drupal Gardens. Not to mention, it was announced that all Acquians +1 are invited to celebrate our 2010 success in Puerto Rico this April. It’s the beginning of a year that we anticipate will be filled with fantastic growth, challenges, learning, and fun!
As we look forward and think about our plans for the year, we have made a conscious decision to focus a large portion of our resources on spreading the gospel of Drupal to the world. Acquia is chock full of very passionate Drupalists and friends of Drupalists and we can’t help sharing that passion with the world. We believe that Drupal is the solution that allows companies to reach the level of innovation and freedom to create the web experiences they want – without compromise. It is our goal to spread the word to as many people as we can, so they too can take advantage of this powerful solution.
As a marketer at Acquia, working with Drupal is like being a kid in a candy store; and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love candy. There is no shortage of fantastic stories to tell about how Drupal is helping companies of all sizes, especially enterprise, create some really killer websites. Drupal’s ability to help organizations truly engage with their customers, prospects, employees, partners, and everyone else in their community is a marketer’s dream. I recently experienced this first-hand when we created an event micro-site on Drupal Gardens. Our designer created a template for the site and I was able to update content and layout in real-time, and with ease I might add. Having the freedom to control my content on my timeline is invaluable. I’ve heard the stories, seen the results, drank the Kool-Aid, and I’m excited about taking this initiative to help grow the Drupal community.
