We are in Alpha

We have some good news for Acquia watchers: the Carbon distribution and Spokes network service have entered private alpha testing and are steadily marching towards beta. We've been conducting internal alpha testing for Carbon and Spokes for a few weeks now. One of the nice things about hiring lots of new employees, particularly non-developers, is that you get a lot internal testers. We've been doing internal alpha tests with our sales, support, professional services, and management team. The user feedback is useful, and we've found lots of things to improve. But this kind of feedback is... More

OSCON report- "I keep hearing about Drupal in every talk" - Microsoft employee

Kieran Lal's picture
This year we had about a dozen members of the Drupal community show up to help run the Drupal booth at OSCON. We frequently needed at least 4 people at the booth to answer all the questions and still had people waiting to learn more. A large part of our visitors were already Drupal users and they were just coming by the booth to say "hi!". They wanted to let us know how many sites they were running or wanted to know how add a new feature or meet some new business requirement. Where we had time, we were able to answer their questions. We recently received word that Acquia was named a AlwaysOn Global 250 Winner. Initially the AlwaysOn 100, this year marked the expansion of the list to 250 due to the "rapid growth of startup communities around the world." According to AlwaysOn, "this year's AO Global 250 reflects a set of trends that are about to ignite new market opportunities the whole world over." The overall 2008 winner is Twitter, that increasingly ubiquitous service that forces us to edit our thoughts down to 140 characters or... More

One of the things we're building at Acquia is a Drupal technical support center where customers can call for help with Drupal questions. We're busy setting up a phone system, a bug tracker, a customer tracking application, a knowledge base and more. We already have some great technical support people on board, but we're looking for more Drupal talent to staff our support center. Specifically, we're looking for people that have the rare combination of mad Drupal skills (both Drupal configuration and Drupal development), a diagnostic mind, and what we call, the... More

Until recently, I was working for Fidelity Investments designing interactions, themes and conducting usability tests. Fidelity was a great place for designers interested in user centered design. In fact, I wasn’t sure I was ready to leave. If I were to leave, it had to be for a great opportunity. None-the-less, I had been there for 5 years, and wanted a change - so I was open to ideas. Then, I see a job posting for Acquia. I hadn’t heard of Acquia, but the position sounded like a good fit, so we talked. But before doing so, I downloaded Drupal to prepare myself. I hadn’t heard of it... More
