Ricardo Amaro

Cloud Systems Engineer
Acquia, Inc.

Ricardo is an experienced and skilled engineer, with over fourteen years of Information Technology experience.

Passionate and active with Drupal, Gnu/Linux and the FreeSoftware world in general, Ricardo is now focusing on Cloud computing, performance, scalability and high availability.

He has been working on Internet projects with companies from South Africa, Spain, Germany, US, England, Portugal. Currently living in Lisbon he makes sure that Acquia's cloud servers are working and clients are happy during GMT. Prior to Acquia he headed the Internet team at the biggest classifieds newspaper in Portugal, where the "nodes" started to grow within!

Strangely, after all the operations work, he still finds time to help the Portuguese Drupal Association, and, most of all, to go to Ericeira Surf Beach with his lovely wife and son.
