Acquia Successfully Completes SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II Examination
BURLINGTON, Mass. – April 11, 2013 – Acquia, where great digital experiences begin, today announced that it has successfully completed its first Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 SOC 1 Type II examination. The examination, which tested Acquia Cloud services and corporate controls, provided an objective evaluation that Acquia’s systems and processes are secure. Acquia is committed to a continuous SOC 1 process to provide Acquia’s customers a continued assurance, transparency and confidence in Acquia Cloud, the industry leading open cloud platform.
Acquia’s control environment is designed to ensure the security and reliability of Acquia Cloud, on which customers may build secure and highly available Drupal websites. Acquia is committed to providing cloud solutions that meet the demanding security and availability requirements of its public sector and enterprise clients, many of which operate in highly regulated industries.
SSAE 16 is a regulatory standard issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and replaces the previous SAS 70 auditing standard. The control objectives audited by the SSAE 16 Type 2 report addressed Acquia Cloud and relate to:
- Availability
- Change Management
- Customer Support
- Data Backup
- Database Security
- Logical Access
- Network and Systems Availability and Monitoring
- Network Security
The SSAE 16 report affirms Acquia’s system design and organizational controls meet the exacting standards and industry benchmarks of the AICPA.
